Monitoring Service
With AMSA, you’ll have the peace of mind that comes with knowing your property is always connected to a fully computerized, 24-hour U.L. Certified monitoring center in the event of an emergency. There is also a back up central station located in another city that has all of our clients information. In the event of a natural or man made catastrophic event that renders the primary central station useless, any alarm signals that come in from your alarm system will automatically be rerouted seamlessly to the second central station.
The monitoring center is staffed with a highly trained, dedicated and alert staff. We respond swiftly whenever your alarm is triggered. In an emergency, an operator will pinpoint the location, verify the event, contact the appropriate authorities, and call the parties on your emergency contact list. Each phone conversation and incident detail is archived for review. Your security system can be connected to the central station via land line, Uplink cellular, and in most cases, through VOIP. See equipment section for more information about cellular communications.

DSL and VOIP
Many of today’s homeowners and business owners have turned to new technologies such as VOIP. It’s easy to have installed and more affordable than standard phone service. Alarm systems traditionally use standard phone service to communicate with the monitoring station in the event of an alarm. Carriers such as AT&T and Comcast are considered traditional service. While we have had tremendous success (almost 100%) tying into VOIP we want you to be aware of the shortcomings:
- Unlike having AT&T, you will lose your monitoring service if you lose power
- If your internet service has an interruption you lose your monitoring service
- If the modem or any connecting cables become defective you will lose your monitoring service
- Our installer must be able to run a new wire from the alarm master control over to the VOIP modem
- Cellular communication would be an excellent back up system for a home or business with VOIP
If your DSL service shares a line with your only phone line you will need to purchase a DSL filter when you purchase your alarm or when we perform your monitoring conversion. Standards filters from your DSL provider typically will not do the job. A shared line can cause difficulties with your security systems’ ability to communicate to the central station. It can also cause a system to false alarm and in some cases, it can scramble the security systems programming. A DSL filter will prevent all of these problems. In case your sales consultant and your technician forget to ask about DSL, please let them know that you have it in place.
